Why does Ann feel quilty about sleepin a a warm bed and being safe?
Anne had a very gulty feeling about being safe. She ahd heard terrible stotiers about friends of theirs that had been taken to prison and consentration camps; and others who had been burned in furnesses.
As Anne looks at the outside through her window she realizes the treachery in the world outside. She also sees the realitites of life and this treachery of death.

Anne finds herself scanning the area with field glasses. The world around her is constantly in violent jolting motion - the world which could explode at any second, but Anne and her family are up, up and hidden away just as if they were in a plastic bubble; one bubble that may burst at any time.
